Q. What payment options do you offer?
A. Right now, we only offer Paypal. This is an extremely popular and widely accepted method of payment over the Web. We will look into other payment options if there is a demand.
Q. Why are we e-mailing you our image?
A. Two Reasons:
- This is the way we ensure that we do not have any confusion with transferring
of files. Your image and your order details are always kept together.
- Web Servers are not designed to store and forward large image files. This
way is the most effective and straightforward way for you to send an image
to us.
Q. Should I send an original photograph?
A. No. If you must send us a photograph, then please either get a second print
or get it copied at a photography store. We cannot guarantee that the post
office will not lose packages, and while we can always create a second print
of your finished image, we would truly hate for you to lose your only copy
of a treasured photograph.
Q. You donate $20 from the purchase of a pet art print to the Toronto Humane Society. Can I arrange to have the $20 from my order donated elsewhere?
A. No, unfortunately not. It would be an administrative nightmare for us to do that. However, we do have a list of very worthy animal charities on the site here . You can contact them directly to donate.
Q. What the heck is a matte?
A. A matte is a precision cut piece of thick card that sits in front of your picture and creates a border between that and the frame. It provides visual impact for your picture.
Q. Can I get the background of my print a specific colour?
A. Of course you can. You can either have the background colour used in your photograph or we offer a limited number of replacement background colours that
can be seen here. We only offer these colours as, in our experience, anything
darker or more vivid detracts from the picture. You will be asked to select your background colour during the order process. If you wish for another colour
for the background, contact us first.
Q. Can I specify the orientation of my print?
A. Yes, of course. When you order your print, there is a selection box for portrait or landscape. Portrait means your print will be oriented so that it is taller than it is wide, and landscape means your print will be wider than it is tall.
Q. Why do you charge the same price for all of your print sizes?
A. While there is a small difference in the cost to print a 4" x 4" print vs.
an 8.5" x 11" print, the majority of our effort and cost goes into the image
clean up and processing. This effort is the same regardless of whether the
final print is 4" x 4", 8.5" x 11", or any other size.
Q. I live in England. You are in Canada. Can I still order a print?
A. Yes, of course. We ship worldwide, however its probably better that you
order the print unframed, otherwise the shipping cost gets prohibitive.
Q. Do I have to pay tax on my print if I live outside Canada?
A. No - we only collect tax on prints that are to be delivered to a Canadian
address. It is possible that you may have to pay
customs duties.
Q. How long does it take?
A. Once we receive your original picture, we aim to have our finished work
packed and ready to ship in 10 working days or less. From there, you are really
at the mercy of whatever shipping method you have chosen. We have had prints
delivered to Australia in 4 days, but the same journey has taken 10 days at
other times of the year. We recommend that if you are planning to give a print
as a birthday present that you allow a total of 4 weeks from time of receipt,
and 5 weeks at Christmas.
Q. What if I want a print size that is not one of your standard sizes
A. Please contact us first for instructions
